47 Weeks..

Caroline will be 11 months old this weekend..or early next week. This birthday on the 31st thing is still confusing to me. I think we'll do the pictures on Sunday.

She's in the 12-18 month room full time now at daycare. She seems to really love it. She is starting to drink her bottles in a sippy cup and sleeps on a nap mat while she's there. They get to play outside twice a day (weather permitting) and they do an art project every day. She's learned to throw things from the little boys in her class so she wants to throw anything that's round now.

I think she'll be walking within the next month. She can really move around using push toys and can crawl over and under almost anything. She just learned to open and close cabinets so we're going to have to babyproof those. She can also turn the tv, cable box, and DVD player on and off. She dances all the time..it's too cute.

Here are some pictures from this past week.
It's fun to watch her actually play
We got her this table and chair from Ikea for super cheap
The weather was awesome on Sunday so we spent some time outside
She did some swinging..she was smiling and laughing until I started taking pictures

McFatty Monday..week 7

I'm back on track after my minor slip-up on Valentines Day. We went to a birthday party this weekend and I managed to only eat a small bite of a very tasty cupcake. If I wasn't serious about this weight loss, I so could have eaten SEVERAL of those.

I'm contemplating revealing my numbers (weight) with some pictures of me at different stages. I love reading about other people losing weight and it's a lot easier to relate when you see the real numbers/pictures. Maybe I'll do this for my week 8 post. What do ya'll think? I don't even know if many people even read this.

Edited to Add: I almost forgot, I bought a pair of jeans in a smaller size! One more size down and I have tons of clothes I can pull out of the guestroom closet. I can't wait!! Also, all of my new work pants and super saggy by the end of the day. I just bought these a month ago and I really don't want to have to keep buying pants so I'm going to stick with them for as long as I can.

Now for the exciting stuff:
Weight loss this week: 4.4 lbs.
Total weight loss so far: 21.5 lbs.

44-46 Weeks

Caroline is 10.5 months old now and she's cruising all over the place now. She definitely keeps us on our toes. She doesn't stand on her own yet but I'm sure that's coming soon. They started transitioning her to the 12-18 month room at daycare today and she loves being around the older kids. She is the oldest by several months in the infant room and she was starting to use the little ones to push herself up.

She had pink eye over the weekend so her pedi wanted to see her on Monday. We went in and found out she has another ear infection, which means we have to go to the ENT and she will probably need tubes. Her ENT appointment is on Friday.

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks.
She uses her push toy like a pro
Her PBK anywhere chair..it's an early birthday present
She was very interested in the camera

McFatty Monday..week 6

I cheated..and it shows on the scale. First, we visited some friends in San Antonio on Saturday and we were starving because it was already 3 and we hadn't eaten lunch yet. They suggested we go to a Mexican restaurant and we agreed. I ordered shrimp fajitas and only ate one corn tortilla but the shrimp was soo greasy and I ate all the rice and some of the beans, which I'm sure were loaded with lard. Who knows how many calories I had. Then, last night, my parents watched Caroline for us so we could go to dinner and a movie. We went to the Gruene River Grill and the food was sooo good! I ordered the grilled garlic chicken but it was swimming in butter. I also had an Italian margarita. I knew I was going to pay for all of this when I got on the scale this morning.

I was glad to see that I hadn't gained anything. I'm right where I was last Monday and I'm back on the wagon. I'm determined to not let this be the start of a downhill spiral. It always seems to start like this for me.

FYI, do not see When in Rome..that is one of the worst movies ever and we walked out before it was over.

Weight loss this week: 0 lbs.
Total weight loss so far: 17.1 lbs.

McFatty Monday..week 5

Still going strong and I feel great! I haven't had cake, a cookie, Mexican food, non-baked chips, candy, pizza, a cheeseburger, anything fried, etc. etc. in five weeks and I don't really miss any of it. We usually eat out at least twice on the weekends and I've been planning ahead before we go anywhere. Lots of restaurants have their nutritional information on their websites and we make sure to only eat at restaurants that do. I usually know what I'm going to order before we even get there.

I lost 3.4 pounds this week and my clothes are fitting much more loosely. Mario says he can tell that I'm in a better mood now too.

10 Months!

Wow, I really feel like the month of January flew by. I can't believe we're 2 months away from Caroline's first birthday. We've already started planning for it.

Let's see, what's new with Miss Caroline? It's hard to remember what I've written on here and what I haven't. Maybe I'll just do some bullet points of what's she's up to these days:

  • She's pulling up and cruising like a champ
  • She won't use her push toy but she'll push other toys across the room
  • She's still sleeping with us at night and I really don't see an end to it anytime soon..this is based on total laziness on our parts because she sleeps all night when she's in bed with us (most nights) and I know she is not going to like being alone
  • She's becoming picky about what she will eat now..she's not a big fan of meat anymore but we're still offering it
  • She plays with a sippy cup but hasn't figured out how to tilt it..she just chews on it. We've tried a straw cup and she just chews on that too..we need to work on this more because her pedi wants her off of bottles at 12 months (we'll see how that goes)
  • Apparently she's starting to become possessive of the toys she's playing with at daycare and doesn't want the other babies to have them..she's the oldest in the room now so apparently she thinks she can be bossy
  • She all of a sudden hates having her hair and teeth brushed, though we torture her with it anyway
  • She seems to understand things that we say to her now..she shakes her head no
  • She has a great sense of humor
  • She's starting to be more assertive about what she does/doesn't want to do
  • Her 12 month clothes are getting a little tight/short. We may have about a month left in them. Luckily we stocked up on 18 month stuff recently
  • She's still in size 3 diapers
  • She's still eating 5 6oz bottles every day, 3 meals of solids, and some snacks
Here are some pictures from her photo shoot. She though the sticker was pretty tasty.

McFatty Monday..week 4

I stepped on the scale this morning not expecting to see much of a change because AF started this weekend and I feel pretty bloated but I lost 2.2 pounds this week. Not bad. I still have not cheated at all with my eating and I have exercised 5 days a week for the past month. I finished the Wii Active 30 Day Challenge and I'm going to start the 6 week challenge on the Wii Active More Workouts game that we bought. I usually use this time of the month as an excuse to eat chocolate and not workout but not anymore!

We went to my nephew's 3rd birthday party and I didn't eat any pizza or cake...instead we went to Schlotzsky's afterward. I did see some pictures of myself from this weekend and I still look pretty big. Ugh. I think I have reverse body dysmorphic disorder. When I look in the mirror I really don't think I look that bad, but when I see pictures, I look horrible. Weird. Oh well, it's just more motivation to keep going.

Weight loss this week: 2.2 lbs.
Total weight loss so far: 13.7 lbs.
