Week 2 Check-In..

Today marks the end of the second week of the weight loss challenge and I'm still going strong. I've been tracking calories every and and I've walked every day for the past two weeks, except for Fridays. I feel great and I feel motivated...and I'm not starving!

There were fliers up around work announcing a weight loss dialogue series that they are starting and the first 25 people got to be part of it...and I got in. They're going to talk about different issues and challenges to losing weight and keeping it off and I'm excited to see if I can learn something new. We also get a free pedometer, cookbook and water bottle..sounds good to me!

This morning I was 194.6, which is down 2.8 over last week and 7 pounds overall!

Fun week..

The weather has been unseasonably warm off and on over the past few weeks..and we’ve been taking full advantage of it! We had Monday off for MLK Day so we took Caroline to the park.

We took Caroline to her hair cut yesterday for the second time. The place was celebrating their 1-year anniversary so they had balloon animals and face painting. We had her cousin’s birthday party in San Antonio last night and we let her wear her hair down since in had just been cut, which rarely happens.

The party was at a place called Just Add Children and it was pretty cool. Caroline loved it!

Week 1 Check-In..

Sorry all of my posts are about weight lately. I have not been good about taking pictures. I need to take some this weekend when we head to San Antonio for our nephew's 5th birthday party. marks one week since the weight-loss challenge started and things are going well. I've been tracking my calories every day and I've walked the neighborhood 6 out of the last 7 days. I've been right around 1200 calories every day, except for Saturday when we had friends over and I had wine..and cookies. Oh well, I got right back on track.

I was 197.4 this morning, which is 4.2 pounds down from last week. Wow. I'm pretty sure some of that was water weight and I don't expect to keep that momentum. As long as I'm losing weight, I'm happy. I feel so much better when I'm eating healthy and exercising!

Weight Loss Challenge Starting Weight

Well, here it starting weight for the 3 month weight loss challenge. The pot is over $300! I'm excited about seeing this number go down..and about the possibility of winning over $300!

Bring it on! My plan is to do a 1200 calorie diet of mostly clean foods (plus whatever I earn from working out). I'm also going to walk at least 2.5 miles around the neighborhood at least 5 times per week at a minimum pace of 4 mph.

Weight Loss Check-In

I meant to write on Friday but got busy. There's not much to report, other than a 0.8 gain. I did well on Tuesday, I stayed within my calories and even walked 2.5 miles after work. I got an email that evening about a 3 month weight loss challenge for $ and the start date is this Wednesday. I decided to back off of the weight loss until after the challenge starts. I know that's pretty dumb but I'm very competitive. ;) So, I will be on track this week with my eating and working out. Like I said, I'm very competitive and I needed something like this to motivate me to get my butt back in gear. I'll keep y'all updated on the challenge. - Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone

Yep, ladies, that is my weight as of this morning! Holy crap..I could totally win any weight gaining competition! I have gained 8.8 pounds over the past month. I have no excuses..I ate crappy foods, lots of them, and didn’t exercise at all. I’m right back to where I started last year..actually I weigh more than when I started last year!

I’m going to get back on track with the blogging about my weight loss efforts..and I’m moving my check-ins to Fridays. I’m tired of the Monday thing..I’ve been doing that for 2 years now.

The plan is to get back on track with the clean eating and calorie tracking using My Fitness Pal. I’ll do my first check-in on Friday, though I’m not going to lie and say that I’m already on-track. I’m also in training all week, which will involve going out to eat with coworkers every day. I’ll make my first week’s goal to not gain any more weight.

Happy New Year!

We’re already off to a better start this year..because we’re at home and not at the hospital. We had a rough year last year but we got through it thanks to the support from family, friends, internet friends, strangers, coworkers, etc. We’re looking forward to what 2012 has in store.
