How has it already been a week (and a day) since Caroline turned 1!? I still haven't done her 12 month pictures yet. Maybe I'll do them this weekend. We've been super busy lately and I haven't uploaded pictures in a while. We've been spending a lot of time outside in the evenings. Caroline loves being outside! We've been switching off pushing her around the neighborhood and walking the dog right after work. She naps in the stroller and we all get exercise (including the dog). Then we grill something and hang out in the front yard pretty much until bath time for Caroline.
She had her ear tube follow-up appointment on Monday and they look good. The ENT does think she has allergies though so we have to give her Zyrtec at night. About 10 minutes after we give it to her she gets pretty loopy and funny, then she falls asleep for the night. She also had her 12 month appointment on Monday and she's 23lbs 10oz and 29 3/4 inches long. She's in the 75th percentile for everything.
She can walk pretty much across a room without holding onto anything but she prefers to crawl and cruise. She won't walk unless we stand her up and she feels like doing it. She is fast with her crawling! She is into everything. We need a new entertainment center because she pushes all the buttons on everything. The other day she turned the stereo almost all the way up, then started screaming. My dad said I did the same thing when I was her age. She's been steering clear of the stereo since then so maybe she learned her lesson.
She's talking up a storm! Most of it is just babbling but she does say quite a few words. She's off of bottles completely..it wasn't hard at all for her to make the switch to cups. She still can't figure out what to do with straws so we're only doing sippy cups for now. The transition from formula to whole milk has been tough. She doesn't like whole milk. We had a free sample of the next step formula so we're on that for now and I try milk with her every few days. I talked to her pedi about it and she's not worried. She said she just may not be a milk drinker. She said as long as she gets 2 servings of dairy a day, she never has to drink milk, water is fine for when she's thirsty. That made me feel better about the situation.
Here's a picture I took with my phone the other day. I promise to post more next time.

That sucks allergies are bothering her, especially since she loves it outside so much! I'm so glad her ears are looking good though. Hopefully, y'all won't have any more issues with them now. And how funny - we're the opposite - A makes a huge mess with sippy cups, but does ok with a straw. :) I can't wait to see her next pictures!
Sweet picture! She's getting so big and has such a great smile. The boys don't like milk either. This is not going to be a fun transition. :(
Hey Stephanie, this is Abbie. I'm so glad that she's liking the next step formula. At least it gives her something other than water to drink!
